Q. What is Refer-A-Friend?

A. Refer- A-Friend is a program that aims to bring more students to participate in DC MIST and reward those who promote participating in DC MIST to others.

Q. How does it work?

A. First, tell a friend that has never competed in MIST about how amazing and awesome of an experience competing in DC MIST is. Second, refer your friend to register for DC MIST 2012. If your friend does register for DC MIST for the first time then email registration at registration@dcmist.com with the name, email address, and MIST team your friend registered with. After we confirm his/her registration, you will receive an individualized promo code that takes $15 off your registration fee!

Q. How do I qualify?

A. You must be a previous MIST competitor who refers a friend to compete in the DC MIST 2012 tournament. Your friend must register for the competition prior to emailing Registration. However, a maximum of 3 people per school can be referred.

Q. Is there a limit to how many friends I can refer?

A. Yes, you can only refer one friend and receive one promo code.

Q. When does my promo code expire?

A. Promo codes expire on February 4th, which is the last day of registration.

Q. Does the friend that I referred have to attend my high school and/or compete with my MIST team?

A. No, your referred friend can compete for any DC MIST school/team or create a new team if his/her school does not already have a MIST team. Do not forget there is a cap on the quantity of participants that can be referred per school.

Q. How can the new participant register with an existing team?

A. The new participant must email registration at registration@dcmist.com requesting to get in touch with the team’s registrar.
